What we do
African Forum for Diplomacy (AfD) is a platform that facilitates the sharing of ideas among African governments and officials and also the diplomatic community on matters relating to international cooperation and diplomacy in the bid to build a prosperous, secure and sustainable continent.
We execute our mission through open debates and private discussions on issues relating to International Relations and Diplomacy with governments, diplomats, civil societies, private sector and our members. AfD also undertakes objective, independently analysed researches in the area of international relations and diplomacy to help the Africa’s diplomatic efforts. We periodically critique issues through expert opinions.
A key aspect of our mandate is the training and development of the next generation of African leaders and policy influencers through hands-on training programs and access to high-level platforms. We aim to resource future African leaders with knowledge and expertise in the field of diplomacy focusing on conflict resolution, trade, culture, education, environment and youth. Working internationally, AfD seeks to enhance the skills of its members in areas of international diplomatic leadership and advocacy.
